Something finally comfy for my home office
Ended up buying a new versatable which was slightly taller then my old desk and my old executive chair just wasn’t tall enough to sit properly, in addition it lacked good lumbar support. After hours of browsing amazon I finally decided on this chair. I heard HON was a dependable brand and although there wasn’t as many reviews for this chair as others the reviews seemed more positive. This chair is extremely comfortable. I had spinal fusion surgery in the past so something with great lumbar support was a huge requirement. My back just seems to mold perfectly around this chair. Another plus is the seat cushion which is probably the most comfortable I have sat in a long time.Pros:-This thing goes high! I am 5.11 and at its tallest my feat can’t touch the ground-Very comfortable lumbar and seat cushion-Tension control so people with different weights can adjust pneumatic hydraulics-Easy to put together-Very well made, my guess is this thing should hold up for a long timeCons:-The arms are adjustable vertically, however there is no horizontal adjustment. Keep this in mind if you are a heavier set person. The alternative would be to just take the arms off.-The tilt feature is a little stiff, but I don’t use that anyway and may even loosen with time.Additional:-Comes packaged a little odd to say the least. When I first opened the box I honestly thought someone had already opened it jammed it back in and returned it or something. The adjustment lever was in another box with the handle ripping through and nothing was in sealed bags except for the wheels. After watching the video review here I realized that his was packaged the exact same way. I should note nothing was damaged nor would I be concerned about the way they are packing it, it was just odd to me..

Good Chair so far.
I’ve only lived with this chair for 24 hours. I’ll update this review if anything changes.Heavy duty, this thing weighs a ton. Very solid. Parts appear to be quality.Comfort is top notch. The seat is firm but comfortable all day. The design encourages you to have proper posture. You get air through the back so the chair doesn’t get hot. I don’t tend to adjust myself throughout the day, like with my old chair. Arm rests are solid but comfortable.I had this chair assembled in about 15 mins. Instructions were simple but straight forward.

Super comfy and worth the money
Just finished putting the chair together. This is a replacement for my Leap v2, so that is where a bit of my comparison will come from. TL;DR I really like the chair but if my butt fit better in my Leap I would still be using it.The seat is perfectly sized. I’m 5’11” and just over 400lbs. Weight is mostly in my hips and legs, so the seat being wide enough for me was the main selling point. I’m very happy with the width here, as well as the amount of padding. Material seems breathable enough which is another concern. Best of all, no hot spots from the back hinge (which I had with the Leap)Back is very comfortable, but not very adjustable. It’s up close to the seat with no room to move it back or forward. Also the chair can only recline or lock. There are no selectable recline options, and the seat is also part of the tilt (Leap had 3 recline settings and the seat did not recline with the back…. but it’s also much more expensive)The arms are the only sticking point I really have. They do not come up high enough for me. At their maximum length, I have around 2 inches of gap between my forearms and the pads. The way I use my chair this will be a big deal, but my back support and seat comfort are far more important so I’ll be overlooking it.Casters that came with the chair looked to be of high quality, but I bought a third-party set of blade casters. They raise the chair up a bit higher, maybe half an inch, but the wheels are soft polymer so they won’t mark my wood floors AND they’re super quiet.Overall I’m happy enough to keep the chair as my main office seat, at least until I lose enough mass in my… well, my backside. Once that happens I’ll return to old faithful 5-year-owned second-hand Leap.

A good chair if you’re a heavy person (400lbs +)
I got this chair yesterday and have been using it for a while now. I’ll start with the assembly. It really only took me 25 minutes to assemble the chair on my own. The instructions are pretty straight forward and they do a good job labeling and packaging the screws and bolts that come with it. The backrest was the one part that was somewhat difficult but it only took me an extra minute. In terms of comfort, this chair is really not bad. I haven’t started sinking yet and I would need to check in later on as I get more time to use but so far it’s comfortable, sturdy. It could use more cushion but this is not a deal breaker for me.The packaging could use some work. I’d like for the company to think over how to use less cardboard because it’s insane how much cardboard I got along with the chair and I feel it was unnecessary.Overall, I’m happy with my purchase and I’d like to write back in the future to see how my chair holds up but it’s definitely an upgrade to the uncomfortable gaming chair that damaged my glutes and knees.Update 5-10-21– I’m a believer now that this is the chair for someone really big (400+ lbs). It has helped improved my posture a bit, it’s still sturdy. My only gripe with it so far is that the tilt lever does not seem to stay in place so if you move a lot, it may loosen up and you could tilt backwards accidentally. Other than that, maybe a bit more cushion would be nice. Certainly not the perfect office chair but it is THE chair for up large folks.

The back support is amazing for anyone with a long torso (e.g. if you ride L or XL bike frame). The seat is very cushy, but does feel warm within 15 minutes, if you’ve got Hot Butt.

Delivery was fast (though it came without the usual tracking warnings due to a mix up). Easy to assemble with the components clearly marked with the direction they should go in. Nice looking and well made non-leather product that is readily adjustable. Good fit for a tall person (of which I am). The seat material was a little rough on bare legs when sitting wearing shorts for the first month or so and also tends to collect crumbs in its many small indentations.Sep/17 – After two years one of the arm pads started cracking and pieces eventually broke off one side. Bought replacement pads recently from Amazon but unfortunately then found the pad screws are in so tight all I managed to do was strip a screw without getting the pad off.Jul/2018 – Replaced with a DXRacer Tank series computer gaming chair which will undoubtedly last far longer and is specifically suited to really tall people (though it took some work / study / bucks to make it really comfortable).

I bought this chair on Amazon back on July 21, 2021. I didn’t even think about giving my chair a review until I saw my grown son’s “gaming chair” started to have problems (which was purchased the same month and year as my chair). So I give full marks for my HON VL705 chair. Manufactured May 12, 2021 in Allentown, PA. No issues, no problems, comfortable, easy to clean. I also weigh over 250 LBS and use my chair to teach online a lot during the last several years. I hope this Model remains available for a long time.Mike M.Mississauga, Ontario

This chair is quite wide with the arm rests rather far apart. Also the seat slants downward. This chair is not made for the average size person.

Very durable build, exactly what I was looking for. Back can be somewhat challenging to install if you’re building it solo, but you can use the box as a workbench like one of the other reviewers said. The seat itself is somewhat shorter (front to back) than I’ve seen on most chairs, the design of the chair definitely promotes good posture and has adjustable lumbar support. I wish the arms were a little more padded, but the ability to adjust both height and width more than make up for it, and in use when properly adjusted they are comfortable.
