Much Better Than Memory Foam
This review is for “Alternative Latex Foam” 2 Inch Mattress Topper. I felt I needed to improve the mattress in our new RV as the foam mattress although fairly comfortable could benefit from the addition of a softer more body contouring topper. I’ve tried several memory foam mattress toppers in the past, and all of them had the same issue. After a few minutes you are sleeping in a hole that you cannot get out of. All of them ended up in the trash. I don’t care what they say. Sleeping in a hole is not comfortable. And the way they advertise memory foam toppers you don’t know what you are getting until after you buy it. By chance prior to my purchasing a topper, I spent the night at my son’s house and the bed was extremely comfortable. No back ache in the morning and a blissful night’s sleep. I had to know what mattress was on this bed. Come to find out it was only the addition of this Alternative Foam Mattress Topper to a cheap mattress that made the bed so comfortable. So, I immediately purchased one for the RV. I can only comment on my experience. This mattress topper is totally different. It provides superior total full body support over and above what you receive from memory foam. Equally the same support you would receive from a full latex mattress topper at less than 1/4 of the cost. I can only describe the comfort and body contouring support you receive from this topper as nothing less than outstanding. Unlike a memory foam mattress when you lie on this mattress topper your body heat does not affect the support quality of the topper. When you move the mattress topper instantly returns back to its original shape allowing you to move as you wish without any restrictions to your movement. You get full total body contouring support no matter how you sleep. In my opinion this Alternative Foam Mattress Topper provides every bit the comfort I get from a $700 Latex Mattress Topper that I have is on our home bed. So far, I have only tested the two-inch topper because I have it on a fairly comfortable foam mattress. On a regular bed the 3 inch may be a better choice. And if you are over 200 lbs. like me. The 3-inch thickness might provide a better level of support. I have found that the topper can sleep warm so a breathable thick mattress pad will remove much of the heat if you are a warm sleeper. I highly recommend this Alternative Foam Topper over a memory foam topper.

Super Comfortable!
My daughter is using this mattress topper at college in her dorm room. It adds a layer of support and she says it is super comfortable. The dorm mattress is super thin so this was a great purchase!

Durability questioned for Mattress topper
This is a good mattress topper. It is thick & semi-firm, which is a better support fir me.The durability is questionable, as it tore on trying to place it in the mattress. Love this topper. Has a bad smell first three days then it is okay. I have tried other toppers and the response of the foam with them caused a temporary whole when you rollover. This one doesn’t do that. Very responsive. The firmness is plush. Feels almost like floating. Works great for side sleeping, stomach sleeping and back sleeping is pretty nice too. Seemed too soft at first but now it’s the feeling I prefer. Only using a bamboo fitted sheet over the topper. The price was great too.

Good topper… once you actually get the right one
I really wanted to love this topper from the start, but the ordering experience was strange. My first topper showed up damaged with multiple tears, so I requested a replacement. The second one arrived in perfect condition… but it was different dimensions and different density.That said, the replacement I received is actually great. It’s noticeably denser, the dimension were accurate to a queen size(the first was larger, odd dimensions) feels higher quality, and has that cooling latex feel I was hoping for in the first place. I’m happy with what I ended up with, but I honestly don’t know what’s going on with their inventory or quality control.Buyer beware: you might get a fantastic topper, or you might get a weird mis-manufactured version first. If not for the ordering shenanigans, this would’ve been 5 stars.

Relieves my hip pain
The alternative latex topper was perfect for me. It’s much more supportive than memory foam and doesn’t sink down. I have had the 2″ topper for years now and I can’t really imagine life without it. I am old so a day of walking, kills my hips. But with this….I can still sleep on my side with no pain. It’s a game changer.

Not worth the money, does not last
Used this on top of our pillow top king size mattress that was over 10 years old. Had high expectations for this mattress topper that it would extend the life of our mattress. At first it felt great. However by the end of 3 months there was a significant mountain in the middle of the mattress pad and a deep valley that was permanently there no matter if we were laying on the pad or not. My husband and I both started having back pain along with neck pain that stuck with us throughout the day and we realized it was all due to this pad. Keep in mind I weigh 120 lbs and my husband weighs 170 lbs. We are not overweight adults and really experienced negative results from sleeping on this. For the price I really expected it to last for more than 3 months. I do not recommend this product for a bed that will be used frequently.

I have bought it to put over a camping inflatable mattress. Both to protect the mattress and to provide some breatability. I have used my mouth to suck air through it and some air can pass. July is hot and PVC inflatable mattress will get you damp with your own sweat if you do not add something. We were drier with this one in july than we were with another one in colder september. Good memory foam mattress topper.

The pain that kept him awake when lying in bed was relieved immediately, for full nights of sleep now. Different strokes for different folks!UPDATE #2: OK, the winds have changed … this topper has become a fairly useful addition with a med-firm foam mattress. Legs and arms appreciate the additional softness. The topper was not useful previously with a hybrid( pocket-coil and foam), and an inner-springs mattress. This novel can now conclude!UPDATE #1: No real change from original opinion.- When tried on a regular firm spring mattress the result was pretty much the same firm feel, as the topper compressed under both the body-weights tried (150-185lb). No significant softening effect. When the load was concentrated by sitting up in bed the topper really had no effect at all.- On a hybrid foam and pocket-springs mattress, which had a depression after a few years’ use, it seemed to improve the feel slightly, if not the actual depression.- Minor offf-gassing odour after a few days, none after a week.THOUGHTS: I wonder if a better bet might be the type of topper that has the firmer foam base-layer under the softer foam top layer? Very comfy, the product came well packaged and didn’t even take long to expand to its full size. There was no chemical foam smell at all, which I had encountered with another brand, so this was quite refreshing. The foam has made the bed so much more comfortable, love it and would recommend the product and seller.
