Great table, sturdy and solid
This is a great table that I have actually been using for a work surface. I have a new office and I needed a new desk (well, my wife said I needed a new desk. I didn’t think so). My wife found this table and said you ought to use this. I looked at it and I looked at the price and for the sale price it looked great.There was a little bit of assembly involved but it wasn’t that hard. It is a very big table with all the leaves installed. It is quite heavy and stable, the only problem that I have with it is I have to be careful where I stack too much weight because it will start to flip. If you’re using this as a dining table then obviously you’re not going to have that problem. Also I work with cases of ammunition and they are very heavy, not something you would generally stack on a table like this so I’m not really knocking the table for not supporting a ton of weight on one end or the other.The entire table is pretty solid. The top is very nice but it does have small lines in it- again, not something that would matter as a dining room table; but something that matters as a desktop.For dining room table it is a stupendous table. For a desktop it is a very good desktop. If I ever find something that I like better then I would be very happy to have in my house as a table.

Heavy, sturdy table
We were somewhat skeptical after we placed the order, as many reviews complained about NDS shipping; however, we experienced no problems there. Table arrived two days earlier than expected. The final leg of shipping was not through NDS but via a private contractor from El Paso that’s previously delivered heavy items to our home in Silver City, NM, purchased from Home Depot. One stretcher had a chip in the wood, which I was able to glue. Certainly a factory quality control problem, so I deducted one star from the overall rating. Assembly was easy, albeit the instructions aren’t the clearest. Set up–flipping the table from the upside down assembly position is a two-person job, as the table is quite heavy. As others have noted, the table is rather narrow, but that’s what we needed for a small dining room. All in all a good product. Now if we can just agree on chairs.

Dramatic table
I purchased the dark brown table for it’s narrow width, but I love the table for its style versatility. It can look casual farmhouse without be being too rustic or modern formal without looking too sharp. It hits a nice middle ground. The dark brown has no red or gold tones, but is a deep true matte dark brown. I LOVE the narrow 32 inch width (i have an eat-in kitchen). For reference, it’s 3 average size 11 inch dinner plates wide, so people can sit on each side of the table facing each other and still have room for serving dishes down the middle of the table. However, there isn’t room for both decor AND serving dishes, you gotta choose one or the other. I can squeeze in 8 people without the 2 leaves, and 10 people with the leaves (i have narrow chairs). I paid the extra $90 to have the table delivered and assembled in my kitchen as an insurance policy. Too many reviews mentioned defects and scratches and i wanted to inspect every piece and return it on the spot if I needed too. Delivery was fast and there were no defects. Deducted 1 star because a bit of wood along the side had a few spots that were slightly rough, like it needed a little more sanding. But it isn’t something that shows and doesn’t bother me. It’s a beautiful modern farmhouse table.EDIT July 2024:From 4 stars to 1star…after one year, the finish is beginning to peel in tiny lines following along the wood grain. I had noticed this complaint made by others, but I thought it wouldn’t be a problem since I only use the table twice a week. I knew with a veneer surface that i couldn’t get the table wet, and I used coasters underneath all drinking glasses. I also used placemats and trivets under all serving dishes. But even that didn’t stop the peeling. I think these tables are very pretty, but flawed. The veneer makes these tables a ‘for holiday use only’ table; the table in the living-room no one is allowed to touch. You can’t use any type of polish, sealant or wood cleaner per the vender’s (Ashley Furniture) instructions, you can only use a dry soft cloth. I did all this, but the peeling began where i placed a large decorative plate on the table. Apparently, gently moving the plate every so often caused the peeling.

Love this table, had been watching for it to go on sale for months. Table arrived, everything looked okay other then you could tell it had been previously opened and taped back up. Turns out when I opened it a mo th later, there was a gash in the table leg and two dents in the table top. Pretty disappointed.

Built solid. Heavy to move. Tough to assemble by yourself or if you’re not handyz
