Nice Desk for the Price – Some Damage – Walnut Finish
The desk went on sale so we decided to take a chance on the Walnut finish version. The oil rubbed bronze metalwork is nearly black, which is what we were hoping for. The end use is in a guest room, so it won’t be a daily driver. Seems fairly sturdy, and should hold up to light use. There was concealed damage to the top (of course!), but Amazon gave me a partial credit for the trouble. Too much work to disassemble and return the entire desk!Plan on 2 hours for assembly. You will need a #1 and #2 Phillips screwdriver. My advice is to first pre-install the fasteners in all of the panels, then assemble the components to one another. Drawers are easy, however I needed to shim one of the factory-assembled drawer tracks with 1/32″ washers, because the opening was too large for the drawer, and the track would not engage or lock. You may need to adjust the drawer tracks to get a uniform gap around the drawer front. The worst part is the last step, installing the top surface, since many of the the fasteners are at the back of the interior drawer space and there is not much room to work.

II am livid. Spent a good 3 hrs putting this table together only to find that when I put the last drawer in the tracks, it would not close properly. Today, after trying the other drawers, I noticed that one of the tracks was positioned too far forward compared to the other side. So now I have to take the entire table apart and move the track back a centimeter or two. This is not what I wanted to do. What would you do?

Drawers are a nightmare
For Martha Stewart I expected better craftsmanship, this desk has it all from unclear instructions in 3 languages to peices that do not fit together as the pictures say they should the drawers are extreamly uneven as every one of the 6 slides fall into completely different places along the alignment this makes each one crooked and unable to close fully, hope you get a spare parts baggy! You will need it since you’ll be 1-2 short on every screw and peg, the wood however very clean very smooth, also make sure you own an Allen wrench set as mine did not come with one, an additional expense needed in order to assemble this half baked desk, in a hurry? Don’t worry they have your back with a 3-5 hour assembly time depending on your problem solving skills.
